Got it. I've read Le Boat's full terms. Now I'm going to build LNS Management's version — same structure, same legal rigour, but rewritten entirely for our model: private recreational vessel rental, designated operator, no passenger transport, no crewed service, Transport Canada aligned.

RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern all private recreational vessel rentals booked with LNS Management ("LNS Management," "we," "us," or "our"). By completing a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms on behalf of yourself and all members of your group.
1. Nature of Service
1.1. LNS Management operates strictly as a private recreational vessel rental company. We do not operate a charter service, passenger transport service, tour operation, or crewed experience of any kind.
1.2. When you rent a vessel through LNS Management, you are renting the vessel for private recreational use only. Operational control of the vessel transfers to your designated operator upon departure. LNS Management does not operate the vessel during your rental period.
1.3. All rentals are conducted in accordance with Transport Canada regulations governing private recreational vessel use.
2. Completing Your Booking
2.1. A booking is confirmed once LNS Management has issued a written Booking Confirmation and a deposit has been received. By completing a booking, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older, have the legal authority to enter into this agreement, and accept these Terms on behalf of yourself and all members of your group.
2.2. It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to ensure that all members of the group have received, reviewed, and agreed to these Terms prior to the rental date.
2.3. LNS Management will communicate exclusively with the person who made the booking regarding all matters related to the reservation, including changes, amendments, and cancellations.
3. Designated Operator
3.1. All vessels must be operated by a designated operator. The designated operator must be 18 years of age or older and must be identified to LNS Management prior to or at the time of check-in.
3.2. The designated operator is solely responsible for the safe and lawful operation of the vessel throughout the rental period. LNS Management does not assume operational responsibility at any point during the rental.
3.3. The designated operator must not be under the influence of alcohol or any controlled substance while operating the vessel. Operating the vessel under the influence constitutes a serious breach of these Terms and may result in immediate termination of the rental without refund.
3.4. If LNS Management or its staff determines at check-in that the designated operator is unfit or unable to safely operate the vessel, LNS Management reserves the right to cancel the rental. In such circumstances, no refund will be issued.
4. Check-In and Safety Orientation
4.1. All renters are required to attend a safety orientation prior to departure. The safety orientation covers vessel-specific safety procedures, required equipment, navigation guidelines, and applicable Transport Canada requirements.
4.2. No vessel will be released until the check-in process and safety orientation have been completed in full, and all required documentation has been signed.
4.3. Standard check-in takes place at the confirmed departure location at the time specified in your Booking Confirmation. Exact departure location details will be provided upon confirmed booking.
4.4. Failure to arrive at the scheduled check-in time may result in a shortened rental period or cancellation of the rental without refund, at LNS Management's discretion.
5. Payment
5.1. A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total rental cost is required to confirm your booking. The remaining balance is due no later than 7 days prior to your rental date. If payment is not received by this deadline, LNS Management reserves the right to cancel the booking and retain the deposit.
5.2. If a booking is made within 7 days of the rental date, full payment is required at the time of booking.
5.3. Accepted payment methods will be confirmed at the time of booking. LNS Management does not collect payment information through its website.
5.4. All pricing is subject to change until a Booking Confirmation has been issued. The price confirmed in your Booking Confirmation is the price you will pay, subject to any agreed amendments.
6. Security Deposit
6.1. A refundable security deposit is required and must be provided prior to vessel release at check-in. The deposit amount will be confirmed in your Booking Confirmation.
6.2. The security deposit will be held to cover any damage to the vessel, its equipment, or any third-party property caused during the rental period.
6.3. If the vessel is returned in satisfactory condition with no damage, the security deposit will be released in full within 7 business days of the rental date.
6.4. If damage is identified upon return of the vessel, LNS Management reserves the right to apply all or part of the security deposit toward the cost of repair or replacement. If costs exceed the value of the security deposit, LNS Management reserves the right to pursue recovery of the full amount.
6.5. Acts considered negligent or reckless — including but not limited to operating the vessel under the influence of alcohol or drugs, allowing an unqualified or underage person to operate the vessel, or disregarding navigation rules — will render the renter liable for the full cost of any resulting damage, regardless of the deposit amount.
7. Cancellations by the Renter
7.1. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to LNS Management. Verbal cancellations will not be accepted.
7.2. The following cancellation schedule applies:
More than 14 days before the rental date: deposit forfeited, remaining balance refunded in full.
7 to 14 days before the rental date: 75% of the total rental cost is forfeited.
Less than 7 days before the rental date: 100% of the total rental cost is forfeited. No refund will be issued.
7.3. LNS Management strongly recommends that all renters obtain appropriate personal insurance to cover cancellation costs.
8. Cancellations or Changes by LNS Management
8.1. LNS Management reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a rental due to unsafe weather conditions, mechanical issues, Force Majeure Events, or any other circumstance that makes the rental inadvisable or unsafe.
8.2. In the event of a cancellation initiated by LNS Management, a full refund of all amounts paid will be issued. LNS Management will not be liable for any additional costs incurred by the renter in preparation for the rental, including but not limited to transportation, catering, or personal arrangements.
8.3. If LNS Management proposes an alternative date and the renter accepts, no additional fees will apply.
9. Amendments
9.1. Requests to amend a confirmed booking — including changes to date, duration, vessel, or group size — must be submitted in writing and are subject to availability.
9.2. An administration fee may apply to amendments made after the Booking Confirmation has been issued. This will be communicated at the time of the amendment request.
9.3. LNS Management cannot guarantee that amendments will be accommodated. If an amendment cannot be fulfilled, the original booking terms remain in effect.
10. Permitted Use
10.1. The vessel may only be used for private recreational purposes by the group named in the Booking Confirmation. Commercial use, sub-rental, transporting passengers for compensation, and use for any unlawful purpose are strictly prohibited.
10.2. The number of persons on board at any time must not exceed the maximum capacity specified for the vessel in the Booking Confirmation. Exceeding vessel capacity is a serious safety violation and a breach of these Terms.
10.3. The vessel must remain within the permitted operating area communicated during the safety orientation. Operating outside of the permitted area constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in immediate termination of the rental without refund.
10.4. Night operation is not permitted unless expressly authorized in writing by LNS Management prior to the rental date.
10.5. The vessel must not be used to tow any other vessel or watercraft unless prior written consent has been obtained from LNS Management.
11. Conduct
11.1. All members of the group are expected to conduct themselves in a lawful, safe, and respectful manner throughout the rental period.
11.2. No person under the legal drinking age in Ontario shall consume alcohol on board the vessel. It is the sole responsibility of the person who made the booking to ensure compliance with this requirement.
11.3. LNS Management reserves the right to refuse to release the vessel, or to terminate a rental already in progress, if any member of the group is behaving in a manner that poses a risk to safety or is in violation of these Terms. In such circumstances, no refund will be issued.
11.4. Any damage to the vessel, its equipment, or any third-party property resulting from the conduct of any group member during the rental period is the financial responsibility of the person who made the booking.
12. Third-Party Services and Add-Ons
12.1. LNS Management does not provide catering, decor, entertainment, photography, or any other supplementary services as part of the rental.
12.2. Renters who wish to arrange third-party services for use during the rental period do so entirely at their own discretion and expense. LNS Management accepts no responsibility for the performance, conduct, or presence of any third-party service provider during the rental.
12.3. Any third-party persons boarding the vessel — including service providers — must be included in the total headcount and must not cause the vessel to exceed its maximum permitted capacity.
13. Return of Vessel
13.1. The vessel must be returned to the departure location by the agreed end time specified in your Booking Confirmation. Late returns will incur a fee of $150 per 30 minutes, charged against the security deposit.
13.2. The vessel must be returned in a clean and orderly condition. Renters are responsible for removing all personal belongings, disposing of all waste in designated receptacles, and returning all equipment provided at check-in.
13.3. If the vessel is returned in an unsatisfactory condition in LNS Management's reasonable assessment, a cleaning fee will be charged against the security deposit.
14. Accidents and Incidents
14.1. In the event of an accident, collision, injury, or any incident involving the vessel or a third party during the rental period, the designated operator must cease navigation immediately where safe to do so and contact LNS Management without delay.
14.2. The renter must complete an incident report form provided by LNS Management. No repairs to the vessel may be authorized or arranged by the renter without LNS Management's prior written consent.
14.3. Failure to report an incident upon return of the vessel will be considered a breach of these Terms and may affect the return of the security deposit.
15. Insurance
15.1. LNS Management maintains insurance coverage on its vessels in accordance with applicable requirements. This coverage does not extend to personal belongings, personal injury sustained through renter negligence, or damage caused by reckless or unlawful operation.
15.2. Renters are strongly encouraged to obtain personal insurance coverage prior to their rental date to cover personal injury, loss of personal property, and cancellation costs.
15.3. LNS Management is not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury resulting from the renter's failure to obtain adequate personal insurance.
16. Limitation of Liability
16.1. LNS Management's liability in connection with any rental is limited to the total amount paid by the renter directly to LNS Management for that rental.
16.2. LNS Management is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special damages arising from or in connection with the rental, including but not limited to loss of enjoyment, personal injury sustained through renter negligence, or costs incurred in preparation for the rental.
16.3. LNS Management is not responsible for the actions, omissions, or performance of any third-party service providers engaged independently by the renter.
17. Force Majeure
17.1. LNS Management will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, acts of government or regulatory authority, public health emergencies, or any other Force Majeure Event.
17.2. In the event of a Force Majeure cancellation, LNS Management will offer a reschedule or, where rescheduling is not possible, a credit toward a future rental. LNS Management's liability will not exceed the amounts paid directly by the renter.
18. Privacy
18.1. Personal information collected during the booking process is used solely for the purposes of managing your reservation and communicating with you regarding your rental. LNS Management does not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
18.2. Full details of how we collect, store, and handle your personal information are set out in our Privacy Policy, available at lnsevents.ca.
19. Governing Law
19.1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
19.2. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
20. Acceptance
20.1. By confirming a booking with LNS Management, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions in their entirety, and that you accept them on behalf of yourself and all members of your group.
20.2. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and LNS Management in respect of the rental and supersede any prior representations or communications.
